01 What is Team Challenge?

Team Challenge is an annual event organised by MRASWA. It is normally held on a Saturday in October every year. It was originally planned to be an exclusively team building activity for MRA staff. After a failed discussion, it has become an event organised exclusively by the staff, and for the staff.

02 What does Team Challenge consist of?
Team Challenge consists of a blend of fun-filled games in which staff participate in a relaxed atmosphere. It is tailored to fit all age groups, and is far from a physically demanding event. Beside fun, the activities and challenges also help in the personal development of staff. The games are also designed to promote teamwork, develop communication skills and problem-solving, and establish trust, respect and appreciation among staff members.

03 When was Team Challenge held for the first time?
Team Challenge was originally planned around 2009/10, but it was successfully  held for the first time in 2013. The first two editions were held at the Gymkhana Ground, Vacoas. At that time, all the games were designed and organised by the participants.

04 Is lunch provided in the package?
After the success of the first two Team Challenges, participants were willing to spend more in exchange for a more professional organisation. So we included the cost of lunch and contracted out the organisation of the games to professionals.

05 Who can participate in MRASWA's Team Challenge?

The event is open to all MRA staff irrespective whether he/she is a registered member of MRASWA. Staff may also bring along, members of their family and their friends.

06 What about the building of teams?

Teams are built well in advance of D-Day. Once participants are recruited and teams are formed, each team organises and plans for the event. A leader is selected to help coordinate the activities for the event and to ensure that all decisions of the organising committee are cascaded down to all participants. Each team also select a unique colour, a logo, and sometimes a song. Over the years, most regular participants have developed a sense of belonging to a particular team, and the teams have maintained its core structure.
